Performance Tools & Processes
At Godrej, we are strongly focused on enhancing overall productivity and performance through innovative use of performance tools and processes. These range from system driven processes to satisfaction surveys, to well entrenched incentive programmes. EVA
We are strongly focused on Economic Value Added (EVA) philosophy and we have introduced several programmes with the specific objective of maximizing EVA. This has improved capital efficiency and overall business performance. Following the concept of EVA encourages greater owner - like and entrepreneurial behaviour. Our Incentive plan is linked to changes in EVA as also the goal setting process. The uniqueness of the process is that there is no caps and no floors in the pay off profile.

There is a bonus bank in place which encourages long term focus and smoothes impact of business cycles.

The EVA based performance linked variable remuneration system is designed to reward individual performance as also team performance.
 
PIP / Rewards
Our Performance Improvement Process (PIP) uses the Balanced Scorecard approach to reward people who set stretch goals and deliver exemplary performance. The Balanced Scorecard approach, developed by Robert Kaplan, is a unique way to drive business results. According to the approach, the performance of a business should not just capture the financial perspective like profits, revenue etc. but also look at the customer, business process and learning perspectives. The underlying emphasis of this approach is that the process of achieving the goal is as important as the goal itself and for any superlative performance, processes must be superlative too.
 
Coaching
For your continuous growth and holistic development we frequently use the process of coaching. The coaching initiative, SPARK: Ignite the Genius strongly supports the process of performance management and consequence management. It equips managers with the skills needed to convert 'capacities' of people into desired 'competencies' and therefore performance.

Coaching is a process where coaches help others to develop their competencies and inspire them to achieve exceptional and outstanding performance. It drives superior performance, develops managers into leaders who can think and perform beyond boundaries and develops a winning team by creating an inspired workforce.

As people develop, they can take on bigger roles with greater responsibility, and thus advance in their careers.  Coaching is a necessary competency to grow at Godrej.
