Divya Narayana Murthy

Divya Narayana Murthy is Group Head – Legal at Godrej Industries Group and Global Head – Legal at Godrej Consumer Products, roles she has held since 2022.

In these roles, she leads the Group’s legal function, driving legal strategy, strengthening governance and risk frameworks, and enabling business growth through effective governance and partnerships.

With more than two decades of experience, Divya brings deep expertise across corporate legal advisory, mergers and acquisitions, governance, compliance, and enterprise risk. Prior to joining Godrej, she spent many years at Reliance Industries Limited, where she served as Vice President – Corporate Legal and M&A. During her tenure, she acted as an advisory on a wide range of complex and high-value transactions across sectors, including telecom, retail, energy, and contributed significantly to the development of the Group’s legal and risk architecture. Over the course of her career, Divya has earned a reputation as a thoughtful and commercially astute leader, known for combining strong technical judgement with a practical understanding of business priorities.

She has also served on the boards of companies, including a listed company, bringing a valuable boardroom perspective to legal strategy and decision-making.

Divya holds a BA LLB (Hons.) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore.

She is passionate about building inclusive workplaces and, outside of work, enjoys trekking and long-distance running.
